Prince Harry Could Be Sued Over Lies in His SPARE Book
The Client might be getting covered by the lawyers in his visa case but a class action lawsuit could be coming his way.
With the latest failure in a long list of failures Prince Harry is now seemingly getting away with his VISA problems in the form of the lawyers for the Joe Biden Administration claiming Prince Harry’s memoir is not “proof” he took drugs, now there’s a new threat that could creep up on the client. He could possibly be sued.
Last week during the hearing it was argued the clients memoir is not “proof” he took drugs, he could have been embellished to “sell books”, a lawyer for the Biden administration argued.
John Bardo told a DC court “the book isn’t sworn testimony or proof” that the Duke of Sussex did in fact take illegal drugs.
“Saying something in a book doesn’t necessarily make it true”, he said.
Now considering that completely ridiculous attempt at covering the clients a$$ that these lawyers are making, this doesn’t mean the client is out of the woods when it comes to the Spare book. There is a precedent that could be used against him if the public came to it. A big fat lawsuit.
Back in 2007 according to a report from Poets&Writers.org
“A federal court judge in New York City approved a settlement in the lawsuit brought against Random House by 1,729 readers who bought James Frey's controversial memoir A Million Little Pieces (Nan A. Talese, 2003). Those readers, all of whom bought the book before January 26, 2006, the day the author and his publisher acknowledged that parts of the book are fictional, will receive a refund. The settlement will cost Random House $27,348 in refunds as well as over $1 million in legal expenses. The settlement also calls for the publisher to donate a total of $180,000 to the American Red Cross, the Hazeldon addiction treatment center, and First Book.
Attorney Larry D. Drury pointed out that 93,738 copies of A Million Little Pieces were sold in the seven months after the controversy started. He also revealed that Frey had been paid $4.4 million in royalties.”
Frey only sold 93k copies and we do remember as it was well reported by the media
“Spare,” the new memoir by Britain's Prince Harry, sold more than 3.2 million copies worldwide after just one week of publication and will likely rank among the bestselling memoirs of all time. Penguin Random House announced Thursday that the prince's headline-making memoir sold 1.6 million copies in the U.S. alone.”
1.6M vs 93k well! It looks like that lawsuit could be a hell of a lot bigger.
Frey was only paid $4.4M in royalities while it was again widely reported how much money the client was paid by Penguin Random House.
“Spare” was sold for a rumored sum of $20 million as part of a multi-book deal, with flexibility as to the number and type of books Harry and Meghan could produce, according to people with knowledge of the acquisition process, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because such negotiations are private.”
So, The Client might be getting bailed out by lawyers of the Joe Biden Administration but there’s still the possibility of a giant class action lawsuit looming over his finger friar tuck head.
Would serve the little fwerp right if he got sued.
Very good angle! Don't lose this idea. People participating would have had to have bought the book or audio version though.
