King Charles III’s recent assertion, as reported in The Telegraph, that Prince Harry “cannot be a half-in, half-out royal” is in many ways a welcome development. For years there has been ambiguity over what, if any, middle path might exist for Harry — balancing commercial or private ventures with royal duties and privileges. The palace finally speaking so plainly helps draw clearer lines. Now, though, what we all want to see is whether the real world will match those lines.
