I’m Going To Show You How You Could Be Lied To by Creators Falsifying Stories
Let me show you how easy it is for someone to create a fake tabloid story that sounds believable and feed you a lie.
Prince Harry was just seen in Canada at the gray cup, which is basically the Super Bowl for Canadians.
Now, I’ve talked about it many times in the past how people will lie to the audience and claim things from sources they can’t name or even worse they don’t have to name because the name of the game is “you don’t reveal your sources” and you as the audience will believe it, so let me show you how I or any other creator could lie to you.
Now the first step is to create something out of thin air that has to do with the original appearance. In this case, it would be Prince Harry showing up in a surprise way to the gray cup in Canada.
So then I would go ahead and say this in the story. “My source that I spoke to, that I cannot name, confirms that Harry did in fact show up unannounced and the production team was forced to deal with him”
Now it would be very easy for me to write that story. All I would have to say is that I spoke to someone or called someone or even emailed someone who cannot be named, and from the information that they gave me the award buying manchild Prince really did show up unannounced and uninvited, and the production team was given a huge headache in having to deal with him. That is what you call tabloid journalism.
Now, why am I doing this and writing this piece? Because I would never do that, I as a journalist would never lie to you say that I have sources that I don’t have(bingo bingo drums) and create a story that’s not real, but I just want you to see how easy it is for others to do that to you which they probably already have done and do on a daily basis.
I could even go on “the source tells me that Harry even wanted to come on television when he wasn’t invited to come on television and he forced the production team to give him a microphone so that way he could be one of the anchors for the football game.”
Then just fill in the rest of the story with 2 or 3 quotes from this unnamed source and make up something that is said which you as the audience are forced to believe because I as the creator am feeding it to you.
All this occurring while I don’t have to tell you my source, while I don’t have to tell you what the truth is and you as the audience would just have to believe it because it’s a source that cannot be named.
AndrewPOV got a good point. Inserting old pictures or claiming story from a source that cannot be named are suspicious journalism.
I don’t even know what to believe anymore.
